News/Updates regarding Vehicle DealersMilitary Exemptions
This waiver is specifically for military members moving to the State of Delaware who have previously titled and paid taxes in another state The exemption applies only when the military member or qualifying dependent: • Has received orders for a temporary or permanent change of duty station to Delaware, and • Completes the vehicle registration or transfer within 90 days of relocation, and • Provides documentation acceptable to the Division of Motor Vehicles verifying the change in duty station including the existing title. Active-duty military members who have not been recently reassigned to Delaware under official orders do not meet the criteria for this exemption and are subject to the applicable document fees.
